
Buses

Buses are a marvellous way to travel around the city, ideal for informal sightseeing as well as getting around. All buses are driver-operated. One either pays when you come up by the front or you can show your ticket if you have one. All night buses start their journey at Trafalgar Square.

Car Rental

There are many car rental companies to choose from. To hire a car, one has to be above 23 years old and own a valid driving license. Chauffeur-driven cars are also available. Motorbikes can also be rented.

Taxis

One can hail a taxi from the roadside, pick it up from a rank or book in advance through their hotlines. Taxi fares go according by meters. Minicabs offer a cheaper rate if going to the airport or over a long distance. Confirm the fare with the driver before the trip or over the phone in advance. Underground

Known as "The Tube", the London Underground began its first journey in 1863 and is the oldest underground system in the world. It is one of the easiest ways to travel and explore London. Trains run along 12 lines and have 275 stations in London. It operates everyday from 5:30 a.m. to midnight except Christmas Day.
